Family pictures

We went Saturday to take yet more family pictures ....

Christmas Is Close =)

Christmas is getting closer, our first family Christmas thing is next Saturday and we have been getting ready for Christmas for a while now. Kaden Sang at the hanging of the green Last Sunday night, and he gets to sing all of his songs tomorrow night at church. We have our tree up, and lots of presents ( which Kaden can't wait to open) underneath it. We've made most of our presents this year so he's really excited about giving out gifts.

We woke up to snow this morning, and it was going to be our day to finish up presents ... and for me to finish up some work I have to turn in by next Sat. , but all of that got put on hold so we could go out and make a snowman and have a snowball fight. After that we came in and made Christmas treats.

We are all truly ready for Christmas, and are praying for a Christmas Miracle with Micah's Job =)

Bad News =(

Micah got a call today, and his offer letter from Navsea has been put on hold. Navsea is a government company dealing with Military weapons, so Veterans get preference in job placement. Unfortunately there have been Two former Military Mechanical Engineers apply for jobs there, and since Micah's offer letter hadn't been sent out yet it had to be put on hold until these two men can interview, get placed in a position and get clearance. The lady said they should be interviewing in the next couple of weeks, and it could add anywhere from a couple weeks to 6 months for Micah's application process to be unheld. The group still wants Micah, and Micah still wants a job there. We just aren't sure we can hold off for six months without jobs. When he was in talks with Navsea there were two other companies that were intested in him, but he told them he was negotiating with Navsea, so Lets pray this works out quickly , or something else opens up.

Black Friday = Picture Day

We had a full day today, Starting out with a Thanksgiving Breakfast at Mimi's house then a big long nap. After that we got to listen to Christmas music and decorate the house. We got our tree out and decorated it. Then made dinner for Mimi & Keri to come over. We watched Elf while we ate and then got ready for our pictures which didnt happen to start until 20 mins after bed time. Most of the pictures didn't turn out as well as we would have liked even though Kaden smiled wonderfully for all of the pictures. He was great. We went to Keri's after wards to take pictures by the tree =) .

WE GOT A CALL =)

So today while we were both hanging out at home... ( Kaden took a trip to Atlanta with Ma'am and Poppie) We got a call from NAVSEA . Micah's got the regular position and they have started the paper work for an official offer. They said it could take up to two weeks for the offer to get here and processed and all that. Then could take three to four weeks to get that processed and security clearances and a start date. SO it looks like we have a start date around the first of the year. Which works out perfectly with the holidays and working things out as to how to move, where to live and all of those pertinent things.

School

Ironically while I've been doing my student teaching, Micah has been at school as well. In order to pay bills Micah has been substitute teaching at Cleveland High and Middle. Before this experience he thought he might like to teach math or science. Now he's not so sure. He is rather popular with the teachers and students and has actually taught some math and chemistry courses at the school.

I started out my student teaching at the Middle school and I loved my placement there, I looked forward to school every day and the kids. Now that I'm at the highschool, I'm counting days until I'm finished. There aren't that many more to go =) .

TYE DYE night

We spent the evening with a friend from both Cleveland and Cookeville and now back in cleveland using our creative skills to make Tye Dyed shirts, between the three of us we had some pretty cool shirts and pillow cases. Kaden is very proud of his shirt and had to wear it to sing at church the day after we made them, he also made sure Poppie wore a tye dyed shirt when he stayed with him on Monday... after Kaden informed him that his ( kaden's ) was much better.

Happy Birthday Mimi =)

We got to go to Chattanooga to celebrate Mimi's and Papa's birthdays. We had a really good time with family and Kaden had no problem helping Mimi eat her ice cream.

Kaden Sings =)

Kaden has been working hard on gettin ready for Christmas. On Sunday nights he goes to Choir practice at Michigan Ave. with Nana & Audrey , where he learns songs and sings every Sunday night - He is quite a hit there, and apparently expects to have his own microphone... and not just any microphone at that, he must have the cordless mic that the Music director uses. When he was handed a corded one, he handed it to another kid and ask for the cordless.

Then on Wednesday nights he goes to North Cleveland Baptist with Mimi, at North Cleveland he goes to Mission Friends and Choir practice. He will be singing Sunday, November 29, 2009 at North Cleveland's Hanging of The green Ceremony.

Still waiting

Micah wrote back & officially accepted the offer, well sort of. There are two types of jobs at Navsea. One is a regular everyday kind of job, and the other is an Internship of sorts. With the Internship, you work with not only the department you've taken the job with, but several different departments, it is an advanced leadership training that would allow you to move up within the company more quickly. Micah was offered the "regular" job with the division that he wanted, when he wrote back he inquired about the internship position. That division has one intern slot open, but they had offered it to another person. So if she doesn't accept it, Micah will have the internship, if she does he will have the normal position. Either way he has a job. Now we just have to wait and find out when we start =).

Looks like We're Moving

Micah went to a job interview last week and he received an offer today =)! We are very excited about a new opportunity in a new place. We are both really excited for Micah! This was the company he had wanted to work for & he now has the opportunity. He went to Virginia for an Interview and 4 divisions interviewed with him. Out of those four, three were interested in extending him an offer ( the fourth still had several more people to interview)- From this point he will decide which of the three he would like to work with and let H.R. know. they will then extend an Official offer.


The Company is Navsea, they create Navel Weapons for the United States Navy. Micah has received a job offer from the Division in Dahlgren,Virginia. We will more than likely live in the Fredricksbug area. Now we're just waiting for an official offer =).

Halloween

We had a very busy Halloween this year, We started around 4 so that we would be done earlier. Kaden decided to be Buzz Lightyear, We are really in to Toy Story since Kaden Went with Poppy to see Toy Story 1 & 2 in the movie theatre. He's already looking forward to Toy Story Three.
